Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled Database Administrator to manage and maintain the company’s databases, ensuring high performance, security, and availability. The ideal candidate will be responsible for database design, implementation, monitoring, and optimization to support business applications and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.).
• Ensure the performance, integrity, and security of databases.
• Monitor database systems for performance issues, tuning queries, and optimizing storage.
• Create and manage database backup and recovery strategies.
• Manage database access, permissions, and user roles.
• Implement and maintain data replication, clustering, and failover solutions.
• Collaborate with developers to design and optimize data models.
• Conduct database upgrades, patch management, and migration activities.
• Develop and maintain documentation, policies, and procedures for database management.
• Ensure data privacy and compliance with organizational and legal standards.

Qualifications & Skills

• Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Experience with backup/recovery tools and high availability solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.
• Familiarity with data security, encryption, and access control mechanisms.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
• Understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra).
• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools.
