Quality Assurance Engineer (Reports)

In this role, you will be responsible for validating and verifying business-critical reports to ensure they deliver accurate, reliable, and actionable insights. You will collaborate closely with developers, database administrators, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure our reporting solutions meet functional requirements, business expectations, and high standards of quality.

Qualifications and Experience We're After

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• Proven experience in software testing, preferably in report validation or BI testing.
• Strong SQL knowledge for data validation and query writing.
• Familiarity with reporting/BI tools such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, SSRS, Tableau, or similar.
• Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect tracking processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with a strong eye for detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Your Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Validate data accuracy and integrity in reports against source systems.
• Review functional and business requirements and design test cases for reports and dashboards.
• Execute manual and automated tests for report validation.
• Perform SQL queries to verify backend data, calculations, and transformations.
• Identify, document, and track defects or discrepancies in reporting outputs.
• Work closely with developers, DBAs, and business analysts to resolve issues.
• Ensure reports meet usability, performance, and formatting standards.
• Prepare test documentation, validation checklists, and summary reports for stakeholders.
