Intern Full-Stack Developer

IT Division of Barakat Immigration Consulting - Lanka(Pvt)Ltd.

Location : Horagolla, Nittambuwa, Sri Lanka

Compensation : Paid internship – terms to be discussed during the interview

We are looking for 2 motivated and curious interns to join our team and contribute to the development of Jurislocator and Immifocus — two innovative legal and immigration tech platforms designed for Canadian immigration professionals.

This internship provides hands-on experience working on real-world web applications that combine legal intelligence, automation, and modern web architecture.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in full-stack development (both frontend and backend).
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
  • Exposure to Python, especially for data structuring or analysis tasks, is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with Laravel framework is a plus (or willingness to learn).
  • Interest in or basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and database systems (MySQL, NoSQL).
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and contribute positively to group projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and optimization of our web applications using PHP and Laravel.
  • Support the integration of APIs and the development of responsive, user-friendly UI/UX components.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement secure, scalable software solutions.
  • Contribute to data analysis, logic structuring, and algorithmic improvements (particularly for Jurislocator’s legal reference engine).
  • Participate in testing, debugging, and refining backend workflows and frontend interfaces.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies relevant to legal-tech and SaaS platform development.
