Cypress - Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

Job purpose

We are looking for a passionate, energetic resource to join the Data Technology Solutions team.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and select test cases for automation and/or create, enhance, debug and execute automation test cases
• Create an automation test plan & strategy and configure an automated test environment (ATE)
• Design and develop a test automation frEnework
• Understand, analyse and develop complex test datasets for automated testing
• Participate in an automated environment setup with an integrated development environment (IDE)
• Collate and monitor the defect management process
• Manage changes and execute regression tests
• Maximise the system's test coverage to c. 95%, in turn reducing defects
• Determine exact solutions for problems related to object identity and error handling
• Interact with customers/clients to solve the various issues they face, as well as keep them apprised of on the situation
• Ensure continued learning through additional trainings and code review of automation scripts
• Communicate and collaborate with product developers, direct managers and engineering peers to develop the correct solutions
• Effectively plan projects, develop expected solutions and engage in the development and feedback lifecycle
• Implement or adhere to coding standards and best practices
• Conduct quality checks and adhere to the agreed service-level agreement (SLA) /turnaround time(TAT) lifecycle

Key competencies

• Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, computer science or related fields Over five years of work experience in automated testing and quality assurance practices
• Experience in testing web applications, databases and APIs
• Experience working with on-site/off-site models and creating both E2E and React component tests
• Exposure to design and development of test automation framework leveraging relevant code tibraries
• Strong understanding of the Cypress testing framework and quality assurance methodologies
• Experience with Jest, React Testing Library or a similar React unit testing library
• Ability to read React and Typescript code to debug issues and add test IDs
• In-depth knowledge of Cypress configurations for proxies and SSL
• Understanding of Cypress best practices and front-end testing methodologies
• Experience with test automation is a must
• Ability to work on tasks independently as an automation test engineer but integrate appropriately with the
• Implementation Services team
• Good knowledge of rest APis and database technologies, such as SQL server
• Adapt to changes in requirements and learn new tools and practices, as needed
• Ability to contribute to code review feedback for other engineers and contribute to forward design ideas
• Knowledge of financial services and experience using Selenium WebDrivers, TestNG, etc. will be preferred
