About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Engineering to lead and oversee all engineering, maintenance, and project management functions within our FMCG production facilities. This leadership role requires strong technical expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in plant reliability, productivity, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead and manage the Engineering & Maintenance teams across all manufacturing sites (Buttala & Kurunegala).
  2. Develop and execute engineering strategies to optimize production efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance asset reliability
  3. Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure smooth plant operations.
  4. Plan, budget, and execute capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects, including new installations and equipment upgrades.
  5. Collaborate with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment with production goals and compliance standards.
  6. Implement and promote best practices in safety, sustainability, and energy efficiency.
  7. Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  8. Lead a team of engineers and technicians, providing coaching, training, and performance management.
  9. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven decision-making and innovation.
  10. Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and technical service providers.

Requirements

  1. Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  2. Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Operations Management.
  3. Experience: Minimum 10 years of proven experience in an FMCG or Food & Beverage (F&B) manufacturing environment.
  4. Strong leadership and people management skills with experience leading multi-site teams.
  5. In-depth understanding of plant engineering systems, utilities, automation, and production processes.
  6. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  7. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  8. Proven track record in implementing cost-saving and efficiency-improvement projects.
