Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Technical Lead | Java | Full Stack role located in Colombo. The Technical Lead will be responsible for leading and managing technical teams, overseeing software development projects, and ensuring the quality of software solutions. The role involves working on Java development, full stack development, and implementing cybersecurity and network security measures.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent plus a minimum 5 years of experience as a Java Developer Experience, Knowledge and Skills
The ability to lead a Java development team
Bilingual with good verbal and written English Responsibilities
Working as a Technical Lead to manage projects and a team of up to 5 Java Developers
Being accountable for both hands on coding and people leadership
Training and monitoring the performance of team members
Code reviewing skills
Setting up development and CI environments Qualifications
Minimum 5 years commercial Java experience
Demonstrated experience in full stack development
Solid experience in Java backend development
Understanding of the software development project management lifecycle (end-to-end)
Familiarity with Agile methodologies
Exposure to at least some of the following:
- Documenting and building APIs, e.g. JSON, REST
- Linux/web server technology
- Production database services, e.g. MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MSSQL
- CI/CD tools, e.g. GitLab CI/CD or equivalent
- Amazon Web Services; e.g. EC2, S3, Elastic Cache, KMS, RDS
- Container tools/microservices, e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS
Some payment / authentication industry experience
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Proven team leadership skills
Ability to communicate and establish positive relationships with non-technical stakeholders.
Organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
