DMS, HP, Citrix Systems in JV drive for “Simplicity in the Enterpriseâ€

DMS Electronics together with its partners Hewlett Packard and Citrix Systems announced a joint initiative to drive “Simplicity in the Enterpriseâ€, at a well attended customer seminar recently.
Addressing the seminar, Mr. Lalith Perera - General Manager - Sales and Marketing for DMS Electronics highlighted some of the key challenges that modern day CIO’s face. He went on to say that , “more often than not these CIO’s are expected to do more with shrinking IT budgets whilst being faced with the ominous task of catering to the ever increasing business needs which makes their task a daunting one thus making the content included in this seminar very important and timelyâ€.
During the presentation Citrix representative explained how Citrix could enable the enterprise to accelerate the access of multiple applications whilst maintaining the simplicity in the IT environment. He further emphasized that Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 significantly improves server performance and scalability, offering an instant ROI while enhancing the user experience. He also went on to explain the new CPU utilization management and virtual memory optimization features and how it helps support a higher number of applications with more users per server, delivering more opportunities for server consolidation.
Mr. Danny Tay – the Server Product Manager for HP went on to explain the Blade Server technology and said: “HP Blade system infrastructure is the next generation of the industry standard scale out architecture providing a more efficient mechanism for optimizing efficiency and change. With this infrastructure, a pool of servers can be managed as easily as a single server which in turn would help organizations to deploy multiple applications in a much simpler manner. He also went on to state that even at this juncture HP and DMS Electronics Ltd., it’s partner, had seen a noteworthy interest in this technology and also successfully deployed a number of Blade Servers in some of Sri Lanka’s leading blue chip companies.
