The future of the country is in the hands of our younger generation, and as adults we have been bestowed with the responsibility of education. Education is not only a contributory factor but an essentiality in the growth and development of children. Comprehending the importance of education, Etisalat held a special workshop in aid of assisting and enhancing students and parents to prepare for the grade 5 scholarship exams.

The Ministry of Education and the National Institute of Education (NIE) together with the State Trading Corporation (STC) organized the event while Etisalat was the platform facilitator. The event was held at the Nawa Rangahala and moderated by Senior Lecturer, Prince of Wales Moratuwa, Mr. Dileepa Gunawardena who possesses vast experience in training school children for the grade 5 scholarship exams. Mr. Gunawardena has also extended his expertise in designing the Grade 4 and 5 syllabuses for the Web Patasahala initiative. The workshop was held in two sessions to accommodate as many students and assist them with preparation for the upcoming scholarship exams. In addition to this, the students also received model papers structured in similar formats to the scholarship paper.

‘Web Patashala’ is an interactive e- learning platform that provides students and teachers access to educational material from the National Syllabus. Utilizing speeds of 3.75G, the interactive platform is not only an educational facilitator but also an innovative learning programme.
